Avocado (Persea americana), also known as alligator pear, is a nutritious and versatile fruit native to Mexico and South America, now cultivated in various regions, including the Canary Islands, Madeira, and Brazil. There are more than 500 varieties, grouped into three main origins: Guatemalan, West Indian, and Mexican.
The edible part is the creamy greenish-yellow flesh surrounding the large seed. Rich in healthy fats, natural sugars, vitamins, and with a high protein content, avocado is not only delicious but is also commercially used for oil extraction with culinary and cosmetic applications.
Versatile, nutritious, and flavorful, avocado is an essential ingredient for recipes, balanced nutrition, and well-being.
