Granadilla

    Description

 

The granadilla has its origin in South America, belongs to the passion fruit family and grows in climbing plants. Its shiny orange peel is thick, but fragile. It plum-shaped and plum-sized. Its pulp is translucent and gelatinous, containing many edible black seeds. Its taste is bittersweet.

In some areas, it is known as “the children’s fruit”. It contains substances that activate the thymus growth, an organ situated in the neck, which produces lymphocytes for the immune system.
