Melon

The melon (Cucumis melo L.) is probably a fruit from the Middle East; there are innumerous melon varieties cultivated in semi-arid regions all over the world, all presenting fruits of more or less spherical form, with thick peel, meaty juicy pulp and many flattened seeds in their core. The colour and the texture of its peel, as well as the colour and the taste of its pulp vary in accordance with its growing environment.

The abundance of water inside the melon and its soft taste are really appreciated in the form of refreshments. Its seeds, toasted and salted, can also be eaten.
