Physalis The small fruit with great flavor
Physalis, also known as groundcherry or camapu, originates from Central and South America and belongs to the same family as the tomato. It is a small round berry, about the size of a marble, filled with tiny seeds.
As it ripens, it develops a golden color and reveals a sweet and slightly exotic flavor, making it unique and highly appreciated both fresh and in desserts or gourmet decorations.
There is also a reddish variety, cultivated in Japan and known as alkekengi, traditionally used for medicinal purposes and in ornamental arrangements.
Physalis is therefore a fruit that combines beauty, flavor, and versatility, winning over palates around the world.
